Lot-Us is about where I belong eternally; to my roots; to my cultural heritage and to my family... To everyone who came before me, and will come after me.

 

In Korean Buddhism, the lotus symbolizes eternal life, not because one bud lives on forever, but because it constantly blooms, lives, dies, and then blooms anew in the same spot. I wanted to share this sense of eternality and belonging through my senior collection.

 

Over the course of eight looks, the concept of the eternal flux of life gets illustrated through a gradual shift in the drapes and colors of the garments. I wanted them to look like an endless continuum of a bud growing into full bloom, then perishing, then growing back out as a new bud with ambiguous starting and ending points of the cycle, depending on the viewers’ interpretation.
